Skagit Valley Family Radio - KTFJ 104.7 FM “Radio of Life”
Radio of Life provides a full lineup of programs with both local programming and our network feed from Radio of Hope. You can listen locally on 104.7 FM and outside our listening area by Internet streaming worldwide from www.radiooflife.org as well as Apple or Andriod apps for mobile devices.
While “Radio of Life” brings you uplifting programming and helpful public service announcements, unlike most other radio broadcasts, “Radio of Life” is not–for-profit and is free of any commercial advertising. This leaves you with just beneficial inspiring programming rather than constantly being bombarded by paid commercial interruptions. This is made possible by people like you who support “Radio of Life” through your prayers and financial support.

The Question “Is there a place for a local Christian radio station in Burlington? We believe that the time has come to answer with a resounding “Yes.”
Background In late 2013, a once-in-a-decade opportunity opened when the Federal Communications Commission issued a call for applications for Low Power FM radio station licenses, with applications due in November 2013. The LPFM program allows operation of 100 watt max power FM radio broadcasting stations with content limited to charitable, educational, religious and scientific purposes. Skagit Valley Family Radio (SVFR) was organized to pursue this opportunity. SVFR is a registered non-profit Washington corporation operating under Section 501(c)3 of the IRS Code.
Our Purpose To support the ministry of our church to reveal the loving character of God to our community by broadcasting messages of hope, encouragement and practical advice on lifestyle and health related topics.
Why Radio? It has been proven time and again that radio can reach homes and hearts in ways that no other outreach can match. Several local friends have discovered Christian beliefs through listening first to Sean Boonstra on “It is Written” and then to Doug Bachelor’s “Bible Answers Live”. Radio is in no danger of losing its unique appeal, even in this internet age...especially with “Radio of Life” Internet radio being available around the globe! We believe that this station has much to offer to those seeking hope in these challenging times. Our unique focus on the gospel of Jesus combined with our health outreach is a message that deserves sharing in any way that we can.
Recent Accomplishments During 2016, the station was named “Radio of Life,” the website RadioofLife.org secured, and the station identifier “KTFJ-LP” obtained. An Engineering Study was completed and a FCC Permit modification approved for transmitter location at the corner of Highway 20 and Peacock Lane, Burlington, WA. IRS 501(c)3 non-profit status was secured. Donations made by many generous donors reached the start-up phase funding of $25,000. The station needs $7,000 per year for operation expenses.
We now have been broadcasting for over a year thanks to the blessings of the Lord and the continued prayer and financial support of each of you!
